What to pay attention to when shutting down a closed cooling tower

What should I pay attention to when the closed cooling tower is shut down? The heat removal design of the closed cooling tower is mostly selected according to the hot summer climate. For the closed cooling tower in winter, the heat removal may be too large. A closed cooling tower is a device that puts a tube heat exchanger (heat exchange coil) in the tower and reduces the temperature through ventilation, spray water and heat exchange with circulating water.

Closed cooling towers are operated, and the ambient temperature is higher than zero degrees. The closed cooling towers may also reduce the water in the pipes to zero degrees and even freeze. The closed cycle can guarantee less water consumption and less possibility of water quality pollution, which can better ensure the operation of the main equipment and increase the service life.

The water collecting tank, spray pipe, spray and other components inside the tower body timely arrange the dust to ensure the cleanness of the heat exchange environment and reduce the backlog of scale and dirt. Check whether there is dust on the components and the inner wall, and handle the dust in time. For the appearance of dirt, check whether the size of the fan blades, the gap between the fan blades and the wind blade is reasonable.

Check whether the copper ball valve float in the water collecting tank of the closed cooling tower is damaged, and whether there are any leaking points in the water collecting tank and tower feet.

Check whether the external appearance of the motor’s wiring terminals is good, whether there is a noise during the rotation of the motor, whether the motor fixing screws are loose, whether the speed reducer rotates abnormally. If there is an abnormal sound, replace the speed reducer bearing and check whether the blades are evenly distributed. No looseness.

For equipment such as closed cooling towers, in order to prevent the cold-weather climate from freezing and cracking the segment, the circulating water in the segment should be carefully removed after shutdown. The cross-flow closed cooling tower has the problems of slow water discharge rate and unclean discharge. At this time, if the temperature drops too fast, it will cause icing problems, cause pipeline blockage, and the possibility of pipe bursting due to hot and cold stimulation after the startup will also exist. Cooling towers always suffer from frost cracking.
